Housed in handsome, sturdy thermoplastic cabinets, Skuttle's high-capacity Flow-Thru Humidifiers are designed to accommodate today's narrower ductwork, lower furnace temperatures and shorter blower cycles.
How Flow-Thru Humidifiers Work
Operating in conjunction with your home's central heating system, a Bypass Flow-Thru Humidifier (Model 2000, 2001, 2100 or 2101*) helps maintain indoor relative humidity at a balanced, healthier, more comfortable 30-to-45 percent. When the indoor humidity level drops below the pre-selected level, a switch inside the humidifier causes fresh water to flow across a porous evaporator pad, where it is exposed to warm, dry air forced through the humidifier by the furnace blower. As the water evaporates, the heating system circulates humidified air throughout the home.
A Skuttle Fan-Powered Flow-Thru (Model 2002 or 2102*) operates on the same principle as a Bypass Flow-Thru, except that the warm air is forced through the humidifier by an internal fan, rather than by the furnace blower.
